Follow my thoughts today as I want to make a comparison of what’s going on at our southern border with how one “gets into heaven.”
Immigrants are being told, “Come on up, come on in, come on over! You are welcome.” And daily thousands are making that trek and crossing over the border into America. There is, however, a legal way to come and to be welcomed; but unfortunately most are not following regulations and are, in reality, illegal immigrants. They are being fed, clothed, housed, transported wherever they want to go in the country, even though many have Covid. Welcome to America, the land of the free! But who are the ones that are truly free? I’m going to leave it there!
Now, follow me further, and think about this. God gives us an invitation to heaven; it’s to all people. He’s not willing that any should perish and yet many continue to ignore his invitation. There is NO other way to get to heaven than to accept this gift He provides, because we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). The following verses also tell us:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Rom. 6:23
“For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.” Eph. 2:8,9
Christ paid it all for us when He suffered and died on the cross and rose again. We don’t have to walk hundreds of miles; try to do good deeds, or even belong to a certain church. But we ALL need a cleansing from our sins.
“All our righteousness are as filthy rags.” Isa. 64:6
There is a promise to those who accept this invitation.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL be saved.” Rom. 10:13 (Period! No guess work! Completed transaction!)
Rom. 10:9, 10 sum it all up for us.
“That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you SHALL be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
If you have done this, you are a child of God’s. You are FREE from sin’s power, and have a new life in Christ; and have the promise that one day you will be in heaven with our Lord and Savior and with many others who have gone on before you.
There is only one legal (or right way) to come to America and eventually become a citizen of the greatest land in the world. There is only one way to get to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ.
“Neither is there salvation in any other for there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4″12
God continues to call today: to those who are lost; to those who are weary and fearful; to those who are depressed and lonely; to all those in need of a Savior. He says – “COME!”
This is one invitation you don’t want to ignore. RSVP today!
