I need to start calling my Christmas cactus my “Thanksgiving cactus,” as it always starts blooming this time of year. In past years I’ve also called it my blessing cactus. This year I counted at least 225 buds and blossoms and I challenged myself to start writing down all the things I’ve been grateful for counting all the things in regard to God Himself and then personal things. At last count my list reached 342! I keep thinking of more.
In these crazy days we are living in, I’d like to encourage each of you to do the same. Let’s not focus on the troublesome or discouraging things; but be thankful for all the Lord has blessed us with.
Try singing, “Count Your Blessings” –and see what God has done! There may be hidden blessings that you never even considered a blessing.
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits (blessings), even the God of our salvation” Psalm 68:19.
See how many blessings you can count this week. (Next week – look for more thanksgiving and gratitude thoughts).
I try to thank God daily for our blessings. Sometimes it overwhelms me he has been so good to us.
Since getting injured in March our finances have been a matter of concern. We chose to hand these over to God and pray rather than worry. He has truly come through for us: what a blessing!
