The other day I decided to take a picture of some of my lilies before the deer find them again this year and set themselves down for a meal! My flowers bring me much joy, but should they perish by the “arch enemy,” I will have my photos to enjoy.
Scripture tells us in John 10:10a, “The thief cometh not but to steal, to kill, and to destroy…” We know that thief is Satan and he does just that–steals, kills, destroys our joy, peace; our relationship with the Lord and others. But the verse doesn’t end there. It goes on in 10b, “I (Jesus) am come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly.”
Here’s my suggestion: whenever Satan attacks you in one of those ways, pull out a picture from your mind to remind you of what God has done for you and blessed you with in the past. Outwardly, it may seem like Satan has succeeded, but inwardly, nothing can destroy the joy we have in Jesus and the abundant life we have through Him.
I hope your “mind’s photo album” is so full of blessed memories that you will send that “thief” hiking down the road the next time he dares to show his face!
Such an inspiration! Thank you Marlene!
God bless you always 🙂
