What a day for my appointment; and up in Niagara Falls at that! The weather Thursday changed from heavy rain in the night to snow and high winds. I knew I had to allow for extra time; but just before walking out the door, I said, “Lord, I need a verse.” I quickly and randomly opened my Bible. It fell open to Proverbs 18:10. I quickly repeated the words several times to fix it in my mind.
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous run into it, and are safe.”
Throughout my hour and a half drive I found myself repeating it as the roads were slippery, snow covered, and close to total whiteouts a few times. I knew the Lord was with me and I felt His peace from His word.
I’m so thankful for the Word of God. No matter where we turn in Scripture, His Word is truth, peace, comfort, guidance and so much more. Whatever you may be needing today, you’ll find it in the greatest book of all times (The Bible–God’s Word).
If you have never tried reading it, I suggest you start in the Gospel of John. Let it speak to your heart.
Good idea!
