There it was – a tall heavy duty cardboard box that had held my new hot water tank which my son, Lyle, had installed; waiting for me to break it down and put into my recycling bins. “Okay, Lord, I need your strength, and for you to just show me how to do it. I’m not very strong.” He did just that; taking a section at a time, scoring the cardboard with my heavy duty shears and pulling it apart. Not an easy job, but it got done!
We often wonder, “How can I handle this situation, this problem, this obstacle, this giant trial; it’s too much.” No matter the size, the first thing we need to do is pray, ask for God’s strength, for his wisdom and direction. It may mean work on our part and we may only be able to break it down in small pieces. But if we don’t give up, we can make it with the Lord’s help and we will claim victory in the end. Battles are won, one skirmish at a time. Don’t quit.
