When driving around the country you can see that most of the fields are bare except for a few shoots of various grains that were missed and stand alone in the fields. Harvest is over. The fields will remain bare and looking cold until a new season, and it will start all over again.
I want you to think about two harvests that God has. We actually don’t know when the first one will take place. It could be anytime – summer, fall, winter, or spring. But what we do know is that besides the fact that it can be any time, it will be sudden; in fact in an instance! It’s called the Rapture. Those people that God will take to heaven that “harvest day” will be believers – those who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. They will be gone “in the twinkling of an eye!” All the rest “will be left standing alone in the fields,” probably afraid and wondering what happened.
The second harvest I hardly like to talk about. Although it is a long way off, you don’t want to be a part of it. God already knows who will be a part of this “harvest.” Scripture says, “Anyone whose name is not found in the “Book of Life” will be thrown into the lake of fire. Not a pretty picture is it?
Think about it: which one are you going to be a part of? The Bible also says, “Today is the day of salvation.” Don’t let this day pass until you have accepted God’s gift of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ and be assured that you will be part of God’s first harvest – at the Rapture.
