I had the privilege of flying to Daytona, Florida to visit my sister recently. It was a week I will never forget. The morning walks on the beach watching and listening to the waves as the splashed onto the shore are my absolute favorites. Watching the pelicans diving for breakfast and the small egrets dancing in the sand is so much fun. You can’t beat God’s creation. It’s marvelous!
Time went so quickly and oh, how I hated to leave. But another flight home awaited me and I was again reminded of God’s work in my life. I had a widow seat and I found myself looking out almost constantly. It was the most beautiful day with a pure blue sky. I could see the white beaches lining the coast of Florida with the vast ocean defining it. It looked so calm and beautiful. An hour or so later white “cotton ball” clouds began to appear and slowly drew closer and closer together until they looked like a solid white puffy blanket. I knew although they were white on top that underneath they could be darker and sure enough they were.
Isn’t that often like our lives? Everything can be going so well and suddenly something happens; dark clouds show up in our life. They can take us into a variety of twists and turns and even throw us into the pits of discouragement or despair. But never forget; we can break through those clouds if we remember there is light above – the “Son” is always shining and He (Christ) will never fail or forsake us.
In my new book, “Breaking Through the Clouds” I share how God has worked in my life and brought me through so any “dark clouds” and I know He can and will do the same for you. My flight home brought back a lot of memories and once again impressed upon my heart what a great God we have.
I don’t usually talk about my book in my blog, but if you need some encouragement I hope you will check it out. I love you and hope you have a great day.
