The other day when I was listening to some Christian music the song, “I Will Rise” by Chris Tomlin came on. I still have a hard time listening to that song without shedding some tears, as that was played at Autry’s funeral. But the words are beautiful and so encouraging.
Death is not the end. Yes, our bodies will be placed in the ground when that day comes. But as the song says: “I will rise when He calls my name; no more sorrow, no more pain.” That is our blessed hope. Because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross for us; dying for our sins, being buried and rising again, we, too, one day will rise to meet our blessed Savior and Lord.
Things of this earth are only temporary; eternity awaits us, Hallelujah!
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”
I Thess. 4:16,17
