My spring cleaning began in my sunroom this year. I was anxious to get all my plants put back where I could enjoy them; and it was definitely easier to do the cleaning without them in the way. Valances came down and were washed, windows and screens were cleaned as well as the woodwork and all the figurines. And, yes, the cobwebs are gone, too.
Oh that I would be so picky and thorough about spring cleaning in my “spiritual house.” Scripture says,
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s time I did a “white glove” test; look for those cobwebs and dirt and dust balls and ask for the cleansing that only Jesus can do. Only then can people look at me (as through a sparkling glass window) and see Jesus. That’s my heart’s desire.
Just one more thing; we (I) can’t just do this in the springtime; it needs to be done daily. Those cobwebs and dirty smudges spread quickly. Don’t let them multiply.
