Remember! Yes, we do remember and give honor to those who have given their life in service for our country. And we say, “Thank you, Lord, for our country of America and the freedoms we have because of these men and women.”
Let’s also remember the One who laid down His life on the cross so we could be free from sin. Let’s also remember that because of what Jesus has done for us, we not only can endure hardship and suffering such as the corona virus has brought, but we can persevere through it. Persevere means to persist despite difficulties (that’s what our military has done) and we can do that, too, in our own life because Jesus is the Victor and and so are we
“…because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” I John 4:4b
The chorus of the great hymn, “Victory in Jesus” says: O, victory in Jesus, my Savior forever! He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood. He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him. He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.
Yes, remember those who have gone on before us, but especially remember Who God is, what He has done for us in the past, and know that He will continue to do the same and even more in these difficult days.
We must never forget the price He paid, or the price families pay remembering the loss of loved ones who paid for our freedom.
