While touring the Scranton, PA Aquarium with family, the following conversation transpired as we stood admiring all the different colors of the fish in one particular tank; and as my “almost 2 year old great grandson” was trying to stand up on the seat in his stroller:
Sharie (to Deklen): “And just what do you think you are doing?”
Deklen: “I’m trying to get out!”
Cute and funny! But have you ever felt stuck or caught in a situation you couldn’t get out of no matter how hard you tried and no matter how much you wished you could change your situation? Perhaps it wasn’t until the Holy Spirit gently prompted you to call out to God and ask Him to help you that things did change. You realized you needed to trust Him and not your own resources.
So, as our little Deklen realized he could reach out his hands and be “rescued from his stroller,” we need to remember our God is always waiting for us to reach out our hand to His; to call upon His name for help.
“Call unto me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you know not.” Jer. 33:3
Don’t use wasted energy; trust and call!
