It was quite the request, but it came from one of my granddaughters and how can you say, “No,” even when the request is asking you to do something that you are not accustomed to doing? Bless her little heart – she was flying up from Georgia and knew she was going to be tired. Her request – that her mom, she and I would spend the day after Christmas in our pajamas! Now realize, this is something I’ve never done – staying a whole day in my PJ’s. I’m one who get up, gets dressed and ready for the day and away I go! But yes, this is exactly what we did and I’m so glad I did. It brought a lot of laughs and just plain fun playing games and enjoying each others’ company.
Have you ever been asked to do something different? It may have been at work, at home, at church. Perhaps it came directly from the urging of God Himself. It’s not always easy to step outside of our comfort zone; but you know what? It can be exciting, and the thing we need to remember is that God is always with us. He will give us the ability, the strength, the wisdom to do whatever is asked of us. Don’t be afraid to say, “Yes.” You may miss out on a lot of blessings.
