“Are you interested in lowering your payment on your ____________bill? This is what I heard as I answered the phone one day. Of course! What a silly question. So, I listened on and was convinced this was a great way to save some money. My present account was cancelled in one area and a new one established, with the promise new equipment would arrive the next day. However, after being without TV, internet, or land line phone for two and a half days, and with frustration setting in, I knew I had to do something.
I called my original company, and after spending literally two hours with them on my cell phone, everything was rebooted and then to hear my phone actually ring was music to my ears. The best part of the whole thing was that my company was able to offer me several discounts, etc. that I qualified for and make my bill even lower than what the other one was offering. Praise the Lord!
So, why am I sharing this personal story? Yes, to warn you to be careful (even though this wasn’t a scam). and to check things out before you say, “Yes.” Just know what you are getting into.
As for myself, God was just proving once again to me what a great God He is. The words in my title are what I pray and ask the Lord for almost every morning I have my devotions. “Order my step, Lord” (see Ps. 119:133). I need that; don’t you?
I made a wrong decision. God allowed me to do that and then He led me out of it which brought a greater blessing and will help me financially. God is so good! I believe that was his plan all along.
Oh, how God loves us. He’s not a god who’s way out somewhere and unreachable; but He knows all about us; knows our needs and works in ways that are hard to explain and often blesses us in unexpected ways.
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.” Psalm 68:19
How thankful I am that He does “order my steps.”
