I am sure I have written about this before, but I often have to remind myself to do this because life can just plain get down right hard, can’t it? Somehow, I can see a lot of heads nodding up and down because many of you are going through some pretty rough times right now. When that happens to us it’s so easy to complain and yes, even lose faith.
Do you remember what Job said when he lost everything and his wife told him to curse God and die? (“What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?)
And when Habakkuk penned the words of our verse, his country was about to suffer under the hands of ungodly nations; yet no matter what was about to come, he was going to rejoice and joy in his God. And you know what? We can do the same thing. Regardless, come what may, we have a great God who will never leave us or forsake us. He loves us and He will give us the strength and courage to not only face our situation but he will go through it with us. Think of all Jesus suffered for us to bring us salvation and all the benefits that come with it. We have so much that we can rejoice for in the Lord and joy in the God of our salvation – no matter what!
