Last week I led a Bible study for our ladies’ community group that meets in my home. It was part of a series from our book, “Faces of Friendship,” dealing with Acquila and Priscilla. The couple is often found in connection with the apostle Paul on his missionary journeys. Paul, himself, was met with lots of opposition, threats, even imprisonments. We often think of him as a super spiritual man, but you know what? He was just human and could use encouragement like anyone else. Acquila and Priscilla were placed in Paul’s life, I believe, to offer him just that.
What about you? Do you know someone who is going through some difficult times–perhaps opposition, threats, and even imprisonment in some spiritual ways? How can God use you to make a difference in their life? Saying, “Here am I, Lord, use me,” could be your first step. In these days we are living, practically everyone can use encouragement in some way; so it surely won’t be hard to find someone.
