I recently had a yearly check-up completed on my generator. Praise the Lord, it passed the tests. Even though there was only a few times it was activated over the last year, I appreciated those times, when the electric went off, that the generator kept lights on, stove working, and heat coming from the furnace.
Do you realize that as a child of God, we also have a power source apart from ourselves? It’s available at all times; but I’m afraid many times we neglect that source and we try to run on “Me Power” which eventually runs down and leaves us at a stand still.
If you are stressed, depressed, tired of struggling with a recurrent sin, among other things; perhaps you’ve been depending on the “Me Power,” and not claiming the power of God. We have the power of the Holy Spirit living within us who wants to help us, not only with the small things, but through the difficult times, as well. Timothy writes:
“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” v. 1:7
We need to give ourselves a daily checkup and find those areas of our lives that we need to turn over and claim the power of the Holy Spirit to give us, not only victory over sin, but all those things that are draining us emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
It’s time to say, “No more, to ‘Me Power!'”
