Happy 4th of July! I hope all of you have a wonderful day. As we see flags flowing in the wind, see and hear the fireworks exploding in the air, may it all remind us of what our dear country was founded on.
In one of the verses in our National Anthem there are two phrases I’d like us to never forget. Francis Scott Key wrote: Praise the Pow’r that hath made and preserved us a nation. And a few lines later – And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!”
God blessed this nation from the beginning; but I’m afraid the motto, “In God is our trust” is being stomped on. Until our country repents of its gross sins and puts God in His rightful place; I’m afraid we will never be the country He blessed at the start.
God blesses or judges a nation much by its leaders. Yes, we as Christians need to do our part and perhaps we aren’t doing enough; but there is power in prayer and prayer changes things–changes hearts; and our leader’s hearts (as well as American’s) need to be changed. I’ll say no more!
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chron. 7:14
God, please bless our nation once again.
