Something felt different, I thought, as I touched my ear and then realized I had lost a favorite earring. I had walked all over my backyard earlier picking up twigs, etc.; if I lost it out there, how would I ever find it? Although it was small, it was silver; perhaps it would show up in the green grass. I actually prayed and asked the Lord to help me see it as I began to retrace my steps. Finally, my eye caught something glistening from the sunshine – there it was – lost but now found.
Does God actually care about something as little as this? I believe He does. That’s the privilege we have as a child of God. He is our Father, we are His children. He wants us to come to Him in prayer. He cares for us. He hears and answers; although not always in the way we expect.
“If you then, know how to give give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father, which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?” Matt. 7:7
The first prayer God wants to hear from us is the prayer of salvation. He wants to hear we love Him, we believe in Him, we trust Him to take away our sins. He takes us from being lost to found! What a wonderful God He is.
