Years ago a dear lady in one of our churches cross stitched this verse and framed it for us. Every time I look at it, the message still speaks to my heart.
We all are as different as there are different varieties of trees. Not one produces the same as another and yet each one can produce if it is nurtured well. Trees growing by rivers of water will surely bring forth fruit.
If we want to bring forth fruit as Christians, we need to be planted daily in the Word of God which is our “river of water.” How much fruit we produce will depend on the amount of time we spend “soaking in this water.” But don’t expect to produce fruit like someone else, because we all are different. Just be faithful.
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:2,3
