This last weekend the ladies of our church once again, enjoyed our yearly Christmas party. Not only did we have a marvelous dinner, but the program was such a blessing. I had the privilege, along with seven other ladies, to present a vignette of The “I AM of Christmas.” It was a wonderful way to be reminded of all that Jesus is and all that He brought to us when He was born in that lowly manger.
I chose to express my thoughts on “I AM the Good Shepherd.” As a widow, this was especially meaningful to me. The most important fact about this is that Jesus laid down his life for the sheep (for you and me). He willingly died on a cross for our sins, was buried and rose again so we could be with Him in heaven if we believe. As our Shepherd there is so much He does for us because He loves us and cares for us. Just looking in Psalm 23 we can see how He provides for our needs, protects us, guides us, gives us peace. And no matter what is going on in our life (the good things as well as the not so good things – those hard places, those sad places we’d rather not be in, God is going to be there with us. (This Shepherd cares for His sheep.) The final blessing is that one day we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
I hope you can check out all of the I AM’s of Jesus this Christmas season. They will bless your heart.
