I totally dislike medicine, and many of them certainly don’t like me! I’m presently dealing with a prescription that I feel has been giving me several problems. Fortunately, my doctor is finally having me stop it for a month to see what the results will be.
Medicine is fine, but it sure doesn’t heal or help any of our trauma or difficult situations in our lives. However, I think I’ve found a “medicine” in the Bible. It’s in the Book of Psalms, chapter 100. Let’s look at the ingredients in this passage that will help us “make it through” any day or trying times if we do what it says; follow the instructions; even when we don’t “feel like it”
Verse 1- Make a joyful noise to the Lord – shout for joy! (in spite of your circumstances).
Verse 2 – Serve the Lord with gladness. Sing! (We can do this as we remember how good God is.)
Verse 3 – Remember the Lord, He is God. This God made us, we are His, we are His children, and the sheep of His pasture. How great is that?
Verse 4 – Be full of thanksgiving and praise. Give Him thanks for all things; bless His name.
Verse 5 – Meditate on this – The Lord is good! His love endures forever and His faithfulness never fails. Be assured that God loves you, He knows all your needs, and He will always be faithful to you – simply because He is God!
Taking this medicine daily will put a spring in our steps, joy in our hearts, and a smile on our face. I think we all need that, don’t you?
