The yard waste dump was sure busy on Saturday; almost had to wait in line to find a spot to back into and unload. It’s not a pretty place to go – all the dead branches, weeds, old dried flowers and trimmings. The odor isn’t very pleasant either. People are cleaning out the old stuff in their yards, making their lawns and gardens as beautiful as possible. It takes work; but it’s so worth it.
Don’t you love watching everything grow (if you have a vegetable garden) from seeds you sow or tiny plants to reaping the harvest? And those flower beds – oh, the multitude of colors and blooms! They have been magnificent this year.
Yes, we do a lot of work, but let’s not leave God out of the equation. He is God, our Creator. He planted the very first garden and I can only imagine how beautiful that must have been. Unfortunately, sin spoiled all that through Adam’s disobedience and as a result – weeds and hard work! One day this will all be changed as God creates a new heaven and earth. For now, I hope you can see God and His handiwork in all of your gardens. Scripture says in Romans 1:20
“For the invisible things of him (God) from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.”
And also:
“The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.” Psalm 19:1
Just stand under the stars and moonlit sky. No one but God could make anything so beautiful. I hope you will enjoy all of God’s handiwork in His creation wherever you go this summer, or if it’s just right in your own back yard and in your gardens. God reveals Himself through creation.
