Saturday I had the privilege of speaking at a ladies retreat in Alexander with the theme of HOPE. What a timely topic for the days we are living in.
We all have our own stories, don’t we; stories of grief, trials, heartaches, family turmoil, financial needs, health issues and more? It’s easy to lose hope if we don’t keep our focus in the right direction. And that right direction has to be on God.
Take a look at the picture once again that I posted. If that stone was still rolled across that tomb there would be no hope for any of us. But it’s rolled away and we have a risen Savior who has the power over sin, death, and the grave and is powerful enough to take us through any storms in our lives.
David, in the Psalms, asked himself a question and then answered it immediately:
“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health (help) of my countenance and my God” Psalm42:11.
And here’s our ultimate hope–
“Looking for that blessed hope and glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ: who gave himself for us…” Titus 2:13 (Even so, come, Lord Jesus!)
One day–to be with Him for eternity.. One day–when he will wipe away all our tears!
It’s a KNOW SO HOPE all because of WHO GOD IS!
