I gave myself a new title this week – “a kitty-cat sitter” as I was caring for 2 black cats for a friend, Of course you want to do the best you can for them and hopefully they will lovingly respond to you. However, one of them got frightened and decided to hide from me. And hide she did! How do you lose a large black cat? I looked everywhere – even with a flashlight. No cat! However, later I decided to check gain, and there she was, sitting as pretty as a picture and looking oh, so, innocent! She even rubbed against my legs. Guess she thought I wasn’t too bad of a sitter after all or maybe she was just wanting to earn some kitty points!
Did you ever think you could hide from God or at least wanted to try? You do realize that is an impossibility, don’t you? If you check out Psalm 139 you’ll see that no matter where we go or what we do God knows all about us. Nothing is hidden from Him. He even knew us in our mother’s womb and He knows the number of our days.
Whenever you feel frightened, don’t try to hide from God; run to Him. He’s always there ready to take us in his arms and give us a peace that passes understanding. An old hymn’s chorus (by William O. Cushing) says: Hiding in Thee, Hiding in Thee, Thou blest Rock of Ages, I’m hiding in Thee. When you need to hide that’s the best place to go.
