Most of us have the privilege of a bank account where we can make deposits or withdrawals as needed every week. However, if we aren’t careful, our withdrawals (or spending) can exceed our deposits and cause us fees and other situations with our bank. For the most part, we do trust our banks with our money, but even these aren’t always as secure as we hope they are.
But how is your “heavenly banking” going? Are you laying up treasure in heaven? I think some of these deposits that we send to heaven can be: our love, kindness, hospitality, generosity, gentleness, forgiveness to others; also our faith, sharing the Gospel and leading souls to Christ.
These are wonderful, but think about all the “withdrawals” we enjoy: God’s love, grace, mercy, peace, protection, provision, strength, forgiveness, guidance, answers to prayers – I know you can add more. These “withdrawals will never run out; we can keep going back for more and more regardless of what we have “deposited.”
There is one condition – you must be a child of God to enjoy “heavenly banking.” What’s your account like? Or perhaps you don’t have one yet. You can talk to the One in charge – He’s only a prayer away.
