As I continued to read some of my journals (which I mentioned last week) I came across something my daughter, Christine, told me years ago about her, then 4 year old daughter, Alyssa. Alyssa had trusted Jesus as her Savior and just 2 months later, here is their conversation:
Alyssa – “When am I going to Heaven?”
Christine tried to explain.
Alyssa – “But I want to go now!”
Christine – “But you would miss Mommy and Daddy.”
Alyssa responded: “Well, then let’s all go!”
She wanted to see Jesus; that’s all there was to it! Oh, a child’s faith – isn’t it great?
So as I have continued to walk down “Memory Lane,” I am also looking to the future. As I also mentioned last week, none of us knows what tomorrow will bring, but we can hold on to our faith in God, whether it came at a very young age or much older, and know one day God will take our hand and hold us secure as we cross that final river into the very presence of our Lord and God in heaven itself.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:1,2
Are you bound for Heaven? Is Jesus preparing a place for you?
