The Olympics has grabbed the attention of a lot of people, including myself, in certain areas of competition. It’s amazing to see world records being broken over and over again. The one thing you don’t see is anyone crying for not receiving one of the medals. They know they have worked hard and have done their best as they reach the finish line.
God doesn’t expect us to be greater than anyone else. All he requires of us is to be faithful. We don’t have to be successful – just faithful. Our “best” will not be the same as someone else’s “best.” But we also don’t want to be ashamed when we cross our finish line; so let’s remember a few lines from an old chorus:
After all he’s done for me, how can I do less, than give Him my best and live for Him completely; After all He’s done for me.
Rewards? Yes, there will be rewards and we can strive to receive one, but let’s do it with hearts surrendered and full of love and gratitude for the One who has done so much for you and me.
ARE YOU GIVING YOUR BEST/
