I do love my early morning walks. There are several people and cars that have become familiar to me and a wave and a smile is mostly all I can give. On my return jaunt, however, it’s a little different. There is a gentleman who always walks his little dog named Jack. Jack, for some reason, seems to love me, and as soon as he spots me coming down the street, he tugs on his leash and pulls his master as fast as he can to get to me. All he wants from me is attention and some plain ol’ lovin’ which I gladly give him! I always say he’s one of my early morning blessings from God.
But I often wonder how many people are crying out for love; crying out, “Just give me some attention?” I know there are probably a lot more than we can ever imagine. We don’t know what’s going on “behind closed doors.” Faces often hide the true feeling of what’s going on in their life.
People will seldom run to us, but we need to let the love of the Lord Jesus Christ shine through us and not be so busy with our own lives that we don’t have time or take time to give others the attention they need.
