Just for a laugh – several days ago I walked out of my house, going out my sunroom door, with key in hand to unlock the small lock on my shed out back. It was 20 degrees and the lock was frozen. I “blew on it” several minutes and finally got it to open. After searching, but not finding what I wanted in the shed, I walked back to the sunroom door only to find I was locked out of my house! It was freezing; but I remembered there were keys I had hidden and I quickly found the two sets. Grabbing one set, I trekked around to the side entrance but I was unable to unlock the door – back around I went – grabbed the other set (which I didn’t think would work anyway) – got to the door – nope! – wouldn’t work – went back – got the original set and kept trying until the key finally opened my door. Yeah – inside! However, I wondered, “Why did the sunroom door lock on me? It should have stayed unlocked.” I pushed on it (opened easily) – walked outside and as it closed behind me, I found I was once again LOCKED OUT OF MY HOUSE! (But I had a key!)

Have you ever thought, as sinners we are locked out of heaven?” There is no way we can enter it on our own. However, there is something available to us if we would just reach for it – the Bible. In it, we find that Jesus is the way to heaven. He was the perfect sacrifice, laying His life down on the cross that we might be saved. The “KEY” is to simply BELIEVE He died for you (as He took the punishment for your sins upon Himself), and then ask Him to forgive you and become your Savior. Heaven’s doors will be unlocked as you become a child of God.
