It was rather sad news last week when I learned my one month old great granddaughter was going to have laser surgery. Both of her little cheeks were tied, as well as her tongue and lip, making her feeding time very difficult. The surgery was successful, but now the next 5 weeks will be hard for both baby and parents as the exercises that need to be done will be very painful.
What about you? Is there something in your life that is making your “feeding” difficult? That is – feeding on the Word of God? Perhaps there is some spiritual laser surgery that needs to be done. But first, there needs to be a diagnosis of the problem. Be your own doctor and pinpoint the reason. Ask yourself:
Am I too busy? Am I letting something else be a priority? Am I discouraged, depressed – letting problems and situations dominate my mind? Have I lost my first love for the Lord? Is the Word just not important as it used to be?
It can be painful to discover the truth and even more painful to start making the corrections, but with God, you know nothing is impossible. Are you ready to start that first incision?
