This week has been a week that none of us will ever forget. Many of us can remember exactly where we were during the attack on 9/11/01 and perhaps many of you will remember exactly where you were when the life of a dear young man, a husband and father of two very young children, a godly example to thousands, was taken from him on 9/10/25.
Though Satan and many others may hope this will instill fear in us, my prayer is that God will turn this around for good – for His good – and that somehow this could spark a revival, a spiritual awakening in our country. We, as Christians, have the Holy Spirit living in us. He is NOT a spirit of fear. He is a Spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind. We do not have to fear.
In Acts 4:31 Christians had gathered to pray and it says, the “place was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and they spoke the word of God with boldness.” Just before this (v. 27) Peter had prayed, “Lord, behold their threatenings and grant unto your servants that with all boldness they may speak the word.”
Prayer can change things; we need to be in prayer and claim the power that is in us, but not forget the “love” part. After all, it was God’s love that sent Jesus to die for sins such as this. Our world, our country, needs to see Jesus. May they see Him through us. Let us not be fearful; let us be bold, and let God use us!
