I watched an old movie last week. Many of you may remember, “Facing the Giants.” It was about a high school football team (considered the underdogs) who, by an unusual circumstance was headed for the state championship to face a team, not only called the “Giants” but looked like giants to them in size and in number. The movie had some wonderful spiritual truths throughout and the team was ready to “praise the Lord” win or lose. That was not the case in the beginning.
I found myself identifying with that team and the feelings they had. Don’t we often look at our trials and situations, see them as giants, and we think, “There is no way I can beat this, I’m done, this is not a winning situation!”
The problem is, we focus on the “giant” instead of the One who is greater than any giant. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-present. So, He is with us, knows all about our situation, and is powerful enough to give us victory. He will never fail us nor forsake us. He will give us wisdom and strength to endure until the battle is won. Praise the Lord!
