It seems like it’s been a whirlwind year; 2022 now history. If you’re like me, there have been trials, heartaches, and disappointments. But on the flip side there have been all sorts of blessings. But no matter, good or bad, all things had a purpose. The question we need to answer is – did we learn all that God wanted us to learn? Did we grow closer to the Lord because of all we went through, or are we still holding on to some secret hurt, or bitterness?
I’m not a fan of making “resolutions, but I am a fan of making “commitments.” Perhaps this year we all need to examine ourselves and the year past and commit to walk with the Lord as He directs our paths, and also do what the words of this chorus by John Stallings tell us:
Learning to lean, learning to lean, I’m learning to lean on Jesus;
Finding more power than I’d ever dreamed, I’m learning to lean on Jesus.
So lean on Jesus this year. Learn and grow in Jesus through those difficult seasons that will come.
