I think a lot of you can relate to what I’m saying today because like me, you have lost a loved one (perhaps several). My mind often takes me back – remembering when…! I guess I’ll never get the picture out of my mind when my husband was slipping into eternity and my daughter and I were at his bedside as she softly sang, “Face to Face.”
Only a few months before this he had been teaching our adult fellowship class from the Book of Revelation. One Sunday, after completing chapter 4 on the “throne room in heaven,” He stood silent for a moment and then he said, “I can’t wait to get there, can you?”
Yes, he was ready and anxious to see his Savior face to face. Can you say the same thing? We all are going to stand before Jesus one day and bow before Him, as our verse for today says: either as His child being welcomed into heaven or as a nonbeliever about to receive God’s judgment.
I hope the words of two verses from the hymn, “Face to Face,” will be a blessing to your heart today.
Face to face with Christ, my Savior, Face to face–what will it be? When with rapture I behold Him, Jesus Christ who died for me! Face to face–O blissful moment! Face to face–to see and know; Face to face with my Redeemer, Jesus Christ who loves me so! Chorus: Face to face I shall behold Him, Far beyond the starry sky; Face to face, in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!
My prayer for you is that when you meet Him, and bow before Him, it will be as His child.
