Usually time seems to fly by, but for me, Saturday was different. I could hardly wait for 1:00 to come. I paced the floor, watched the clock, had my phone near me, and finally it was here – my “facetime” with my daughter and my granddaughter and for the first time saw my great granddaughter. Love at first sight and tears of joy. How precious!
Yes, for nine long months we eagerly waited for her. But during all that time God was with her from the moment of conception. As with each of us, God formed her in her mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13 says, “You covered me in my mother’s womb.” The word covered actually means “wove!” I love that. Then it goes on and in the next verse says, “We are fearfully and wonderfully made.” His eyes saw her and He knew everything about her from what she would look like and what she would be like.
God knew exactly when she would be born and He knows the number of her days, again, as He does with each of us. But on a sad note, hundreds; yes, thousands of babies have not even been given the chance for one day. Please remember how special you were to God when you were still in your mother’s womb. He made you who you are. He is the giver of life – life begins in the womb.
