I usually see at least one, if not several, early risers on my morning walk whom I classify as a walker, a jogger, or a runner. Spiritually, I think we all fall into one of these descriptions. Lest you get discouraged by what I say, please remember we are all different, we all have different abilities, we all have different strengths, and we all grow differently and learn differently in our spiritual lives.
We talk about “walking thru the Bible.” This is a great thing to do, but we need to realize this is going to take a long time. Just as walking physically each morning, you aren’t going to cover a lot of ground, but you’re going to keep at it every day because it will strengthen you.
I see “joggers and runners” as already grounded in the word, digging deeper and deeper into spiritual truth; studying and growing stronger in their faith.
Which ever one of these you may be like, we all need to desire to be like a mountain climber always pursuing the summit. As long as you are in the word, no matter what kind of terrain you transverse or steep and jagged rocks face you, you will find the encouragement to keep on keeping on. Some may seem to climb easier and faster than you. Remember, that’s okay. The important thing is to be faithful. God will bless His word in your life.
“Thy word is a lamp unto to feet and a light unto my path.” Ps. 119:105
Don’t worry about your pace – just keep going!
