Over a period of weeks I could see that my once healthy, pretty cactus was drooping more and more and loosing its vibrancy. I finally decided to come to its rescue and I purchased a new pot and some potting mix. It’s a very fragile, tender plant and I had to be very careful removing it from the old pot. Unfortunately, a few sections did break off, but it’s now in its new home. Part of it does look really nice; the other I’ll have to wait and see if my cutting away some of the old bound roots has helped it or not. One of the broken pieces is resting in a glass of water. I’m trying to salvage that and hope it will shoot out some new roots and I can start a new beautiful cactus.
I’m so glad we have a God who tenderly watches over us and works in our lives to remove some of the “old stuff” that has taken away our joy and vibrancy and left us drooping and looking like a hopeless, sad child.
I’m also glad that God especially cares about those that are broken. He never gives up on them. He knows there is still “life” in them and as He draws them closer to Himself, they will grow and mature and become beautiful once again and be an asset for the kingdom of God.
