Thanksgiving is only a few days away. Many of us will gather with family and enjoy a wonderful turkey dinner. I hope not only your stomach will be full, but your hearts will also be filled with thankfulness for all God has blessed you with. All of our lists should be long.
It’s so easy for us to complain when things go wrong or don’t go the way we think they should and as a result our joy and thankfulness vanishes away. Negative thinking has a way of destroying both. I’d like to challenge you, as well as myself, to start having an attitude of gratitude – not just once a year on Thanksgiving Day, but every day. Whenever you are faced with a difficult situation and you start to complain and your thoughts are going in the wrong direction, focus on having an attitude of gratitude. Remember what God has already done for you, what He is doing now, and what you know He is going to do in the future. I think our days will be filled with much more joy and thankfulness if we start and finish our day with an attitude of gratitude.
