My mind has travelled back to a week before Christmas, nine years ago. Amidst all the decorating and preparation for family coming, music playing, etc. my husband, Autry, was lying in an induced coma. Hours were spent at his bedside waiting for some response. Christmas day it came! Our family was all together, singing every Christmas carol possible and being able to say our, “good-byes.” One word became very special to me that year–REJOICE! How could that be? Only through our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. I rejoiced for the 51 years God gave me with my husband, and for my dear family and the fact that one day we’ll all be together again.
That first Christmas with the Babe in the manger was the beginning of it all and will make that reunion happen.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11
