I have been enjoying giving piano lessons again. I had stopped for several years but found I was missing the blessing of working with new students and seeing them develop their skill on the keyboard. It’s pretty easy to know if one has spent time practicing their lessons or not. For example: if the music is written where all the “Fs” are supposed to be played as a sharp and they play a natural, the ear is quick to hear the sour note!
I think we can sound out some “sour notes” ourselves, especially if we are not “practicing being in the word of God” every day. God’s Word is quick and powerful and it can show us where we are falling short in our walk with the Lord. We may become “quick to speak” before we think and our tone in responding to others may surely sound like “sour notes” instead of a pleasant melody.
What kind of “music” is flowing from your life? Do people enjoy being around you or are they afraid to say anything because they know they may hear only “sour notes” in return?
Don’t fail to keep up your “practice of being in the Word.” It will give you all the instruction you need so you will have a joyful sound proceeding from your life.
