I’ve been thinking about claiming a particular verse for myself this new year – one keeps popping into my mind and I think for a reason. As I’ve thought back over 2024, my year was filled with all kinds of situations, good and bad. And the thing of it is, God blessed in all of them. There was never a time when He left me alone. Whether I was in physical pain, lonely, scared, struggling financially, or just needing direction for my life, He never failed me. He has always been my protector, my provider, my shield and my guide. So, I’m choosing I Thessalonians 5:24 as my verse for the year. It happens to be the same verse my husband, Autry, and I chose as we entered the ministry. Even looking back, how faithful God was to us all those years and to me since my husband’s homegoing.

So, 2025 may hold a lot of uncertainty for me, but I will remember what God has brought me through in the past, and I know I can trust him to continue to be faithful to me in 2025, no matter what lies ahead.

“When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower.” Psalm 61:2b, 3. (Always have been – always will be!)
