I started reading through the Bible at the start of the new year. It’s always a blessing. When I came to the section on Abraham’s life, especially when God called him to leave Ur of Chaldees, it reminded me of when God called my husband, Autry, and me into the ministry. Abraham had no idea where he was going. He only knew God would show him and lead him. We had no idea what was ahead, but trusted God would show us.
We knew God had called us into the ministry, we finished Bible school, and put our home up for sale. During that time it was evident God wanted us in home missions. When our home sold, a missionary home in Marilla became our temporary dwelling place. I’ll never forget walking into a small closet off the living room and finding a framed quote, “God is too wise to make a mistake and too loving to be unkind.” We had no idea where we were going to live when we sold our home, or exactly where we were going. But God did and he continued to lead us. I hope that little saying will be a blessing to you today as it was to me years ago and still is.
Perhaps God is asking you to make some major changes in your life this year, but you aren’t sure what that might be. Just be assured, if you trust God, He will direct your path.
