Remember Who You Are!

Yesterday was Father’s Day and it brought back lots of memories growing up on my parent’s farm. This is a picture of where I lived until the day I married. The home and barns are now completely gone; but the memories will always be with me.

My dad was a man of integrity. His word was binding. Neighbors could always count on him for help in a variety of ways. His words, “Remember who you are,” kept me from doing something wrong more than once.

Those same words, in a spiritual sense, have done the same thing in my life. They are words we all need to think about. Why are they important? Because, if I have trusted Jesus as my Savior:

>I am His child.

>I am bought with a price (the blood of Jesus).

>I am forgiven and cleansed from sin (that doesn’t mean I’m perfect!).

>Jesus is always with me. He never fails me; He provides, protects, comforts, strengthens, showers me with blessings, and much more.

So, why would I want to do anything that would dishonor his holy name, or keep someone from becoming a Christian?

Whenever you (I) are tempted to do something wrong, just STOP and “REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE!”

“…but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” I Timothy 4:12

If we are God’s child, let’s live like we are.
