Little Rose Buds

I have been enjoying working in my flower beds this year.  I usually wait until after a rain to do the weeding.  It makes it so much easier to pull them out.  My miniature roses have recently caught my heart.  Tiny buds starting to open up have reminded me of my family.

The Lord blessed Autry and I with 3 wonderful children.  Watching them grow from tiny buds to what they have become today, along with their spouses, has made me love them more.  10 grandchildren tug on my heart every day as they are maturing.  5 great grand children (and 2 more on the way), are those tiny buds that need nurturing to become all that God will want them to be.

As Christians, we all start out as little buds in the Lord.  But He is our Gardener: pruning,  weeding, and nurturing as only He can do; all the while growing us into the image of His Son – the Perfect Rose!

No matter what age our children are, let’s keep praying for them. May they see Christ in us.  We need to be leaving them a legacy of faithfulness and of our trust in the Lord and letting them know that nothing is more important than loving and serving our wonderful God and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Let’s keep our families strong in the Lord.  Satan is trying to do everything he can today to destroy our families.  Don’t let him get a foothold of any sort.

Let’s all just keep growing, allowing God to do all He wants with our lives until that day He calls us home and we, too, will become a perfect rose!

“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

“Being confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  Phil.1:6
