After getting home from a quick trip to the store for a few items, including a spool of gold thread; as I emptied the bags I couldn’t find the thread. I checked the floor, the car, even the freezer, and the bags several times getting more frustrated and upset by the minute as I had a special project I JUST NEEDED it for that night. After calling the store, I headed out to get another one. As I opened the door to the garage something “under” my car caught my attention. There it was! Now I was upset with myself. How could I have let a simple small thing like a spool of thread upset and frustrate me so? It was ridiculous.
I’m afraid most of the things that upset us can be classified as trivial. Yes, we still have that old flesh nature, but that’s no excuse to “lose it” when something goes wrong. As a child of God’s we should be walking in the Spirit; not in the flesh. I’m really talking to myself today, but I’ve got a feeling you’ve probably done something similar!
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Gal 5:25
“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lusts thereof.” Rom. 6:12
Don’t let something like a “spool of thread” spoil your walk with God.
