I’m in the middle of some complete kitchen remodeling. It’s been rather exciting watching the process but what a mess! Much patch work, painting and flooring has to be done before any new cupboards can be installed; but the end result will be nice.
God is always working on the remodeling of our lives from the day we come into the family of God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, until He takes us home. That is a long process, but it is also exciting. We are new creatures in Christ.
“There, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things have become new.” II Cor. 5:17
There is a lot of work that goes on between start to finish. There is a lot of maturing that needs to take place which determines much of the time frame. As old cabinets and flooring, dirt and dust, had to be removed from my kitchen, so a lot of things of the flesh need to be gotten rid of (put off) in our lives. We can get a look at much of this in Col. 3:8-15. (I hope you will take time to read this and note the “put off” and “put on”).
Our desire ought to be what Paul wrote:
“If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things of the earth. For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Col. 3:1-3
Are you in need of some “remodeling?”
