Does it Make Any Difference?

Where can I go

Most of us know many of the attributes of God but let me name some of them.

God is:  holy, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, full of truth, mercy, goodness, love.

If you don’t already know these meanings it would be good to study them.  Knowledge is good; however, what impact do these attributes have on your life?  Have you ever considered this?  Does it make any difference in your life that God is all these things?  So, let me ask some questions and you answer them.

If God is holy, how should this effect how you live?

If God is omnipresent and you are afraid, can this make a difference?

If God is omnipotent and omniscient and you are going through a difficult time and  you are weak and don’t know what to do, how can this encourage you?

If God is is full of truth (He IS TRUTH), how can reading his Word make a difference?

If God is full of mercy and love and you find yourself in sin and wonder “How can God put up with me?” will this make a difference in your living?

And what about God’s goodness?  How should you look at any hardship you may be going through?

Let me add this.  As a child of God, this God lives in you! What kind of an impact does that have on your life?

One more question:  shouldn’t all of this make us examine our life and make us want to trust this amazing God in every facet of our life?

One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Psalm 139.  I hope you can check it out.  It covers much of what I have talked about today.  Here’s a portion:

O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thoughts afar off.  You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.  For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.  You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.  Where can I go from Your Spirit?  Or where can I flee from Your presence?  Psalm 139:1-7

Stop and think about this.  It will make a difference.
