“I’m Singing in the Rain,” was running through my mind after I grabbed my umbrella and headed out on my morning walk one day last week. I was determined a few rain drops wasn’t going to stop me from enjoying this time.
Several things began running through my mind. I wondered how many times we let difficulties, trials, problems, or unpleasant things keep us from walking with the Lord as we should. Is it easier when “the sun is shining” in our life to walk with Him? When the storms comes do we shake our fist, blame God, and sit in our self-pity? Or, can we be determined that no matter what, we will press on, walk in spite of the storms with our hand in His and look at “the rain” as a blessing from heaven, knowing it is sent for our good and for our growth?
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” II Cor. 5:7
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…for whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son.” Rom. 8:28,29
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
Just keep walking – rain or shine!
