Scripture: Isa. 26:3, 4; Isa. 41:10, Jer. 32:27; Eph. 3:16-19; Titus 2:13,14
I can’t say the Christian life is easy; but there is nothing more satisfying, nothing that brings more joy and peace to me than knowing that my awesome God loves me, cares for me, guides me, lives in me, and one day will take me home to be with Him in glory.
My heart’s desire for each of you is that, “ no matter what life brings your way,” (which, by the way, is what God will allow) is that you will remain faithful and daily be in his Word, and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and becoming more like Him.
I’ve needed to remind myself this week of some verses I have committed to memory over the years. I’ve needed their encouragement. We all face difficulties and discouragements and perhaps these verses will be of help to you, too, this week.
I often also have had to remind myself that if we change the first 3 letters in Disappointments to “his,” we have “HIS-APPOINTMENTS.” And since they are “His-Appointments,” I (we) can be assured of the following:
“You will keep him perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee.”
Isa. 26:3, 4
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?”
There is also a prayer from scripture I needed to claim for myself this week and I want to claim it for each of you. We need this as we go through days that are perhaps stormy or discouraging or just plain difficult.
“That He would grant you, according to the riches of his glory,
To be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man.
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints, what is the
breadth, and length, and depth and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge,
That you might be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Let’s all remind ourselves that everything we go through will be worth it all when we see Jesus.
“Looking for that blessed hope, and glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purity unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
Titus 2:13, 14
Have a blessed week.
