Scripture: Ps. 16:11, Prov. 3:5,6
It doesn’t seem possible 2016 is over and we are entering a new year. We’ve all experienced different things in the past year; possibly hurts, failures, disappointments, discouragements; but I hope there has also been joy and growth in your Christian life.
THINK ABOUT THIS:
How can we say, “Happy New Year” when all around us there is sadness, difficulties, losses? Certainly there is no happiness in those things. Realize that happiness depends on “happenings.” The word we need to focus on is “joy.” We can have joy No matter what we are going through because of the Lord Jesus Christ.
“You will show me the path of life; In your presence is fulness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Ps. 16:11
It’s a new year. There will be opportunities of all kinds to do new things; to make new choices.
It’s a new year to:
Read the Bible every day
To seek the Lord’s will for your life.
To tithe faithfully
To attend church every week
To Serve the Lord
To yield yourself a “living sacrifice”
To trust the Lord
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him, land He will direct your path.” Pro. 3:5,6
God may allow you to go through some things this year that won’t necessarily be happy, but remember you can still have joy as you trust and walk with your hand in the Lord’s hand and take one day at a time with Him.
HAVE A JOYOUS NEW YEAR!
